BARGAIN HUNT

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
This compelling BBC series presents contestants foraging for bargains amongst local antique shows and flea markets throughout England. In each half-hour episode, two teams are given £200 and the services of a professional antiques consultant, and then are set loose to find as many valuable bargains as possible in one hour. Bargain Hunt's fast pace and competitive atmosphere add to the drama as contestants haggle with dealers and discuss the motivations behind their purchases. Each team then has one week to clean up their items in preparation for the auction block. Prior to the sale, an auctioneer appraises the items and bluntly assesses their potential for earning a profit. Whichever team makes the most money from the spoils of their hunt wins the competition and keeps their earnings.

The series is hosted by the knowledgeable and energetic David Dickinson. His commentary, along with that of each team’s consulting expert and the auctioneer, provides helpful tips and valuable information for antiquers.
