THE BOSS

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Acadamy Award winner Jim Broadbent (Iris) stars in this comedy about an inept bank manager that no one can bank on...

The Peter Principle states that "Everybody is promoted to their level of incompetence -- and stays there." Jim Broadbent (Moulin Rouge, Bridget Jones's Diary, Bullets Over Broadway) is Peter Duffley, a total klutz who has somehow been promoted to a position of power. Pompous, foolish and greedy, he is disasterously incompetent and always making mistakes. He survives only by being obsequious to his area manager and by claiming credit for the brilliance and efficiency of his assistant manager, Susan Harvey (Claire Skinner). She is the thorn in his side; he is the idiot who is blocking her way to success.

As for the rest of his staff, they all hold him in utter contempt: bright young Brenda (Tracy Keating); Iris, Peter's eccentric secretary (Janette Legge); laconic dry-wit Geoffrey (Stephen Moore), and dim-but-willing Bradley (David Schneider)
