PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Celebrate the lives of two of the ocean's most awesome and spectacular species. The Magic of Dolphins and The Mysteries of Whales are intimate portraits from the BBC's award-winning Natural History Unit, and bring you closer than ever before to these extraordinary creatures. Follow a mother and calf humpback whale on a 3000-mile migration and a grey whale calf's scrape with death. The film features a unique sequence from beside a blue whale, the size of a jet airliner, as it feeds. The birth and development of a dolphin calf and the acrobatics of spinner dolphins as they twist and turn in mid-air are set against the merciless efficiency of the killer whale, one of the earth's greatest predators.
